The La Cañada Flintridge City Council will consider approving a number of proposed city contracts during a 7 p.m. Monday meeting at City Hall.
A contract for $26,527 would pay for consultants to study the inner-workings of the city’s Planning Department and propose ways to make the permit review process more user-friendly for builders and residents. Work would be done by a team from Urban Futures Inc. and Hogle Ireland Inc., including former Arcadia City Manager Bill Kelly and former Irvine Planning Director Mike Thiele.
City officials will also consider extending a contract for traffic engineering services at a rate of $125,000 per year. That’s the same amount as the city’s current contract, which cost about 30% more than in recent years due to increased demand.
A contract extension with All City Management Services would increase the cost of crossing guard services from $75,000 per year to $79,879, allowing for an additional guard for La Cañada Elementary summer school classes.
