AREA 1: 3100 Santa Carlotta Avenue: A woman reported that two unsecured bicycles had been stolen from her yard sometime between 3 p.m. on June 6 and 5 p.m. on June 7. Both were in poor condition and valued at $25 and $20 each.

4200 block of Florencita Avenue: Baudilio Ortiz Negro, 41, of North Hollywood was arrested and charged with burglary after a parking enforcement officer radioed a crime in progress call at 11 a.m. on June 6. The officer said he saw the man leaving a shed behind a vacant home and carrying a small plastic electrical box. Negro told a deputy he was hoping to find items to recycle for money and had taken the electrical box because he was struggling to make mortgage payments.

3000 block of Foothill Boulevard: Andrew Richard Salazar, 24, of Los Angeles was arrested at 8:20 p.m. on June 4 and charged with possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop. A deputy on patrol stopped Salazar for having only one working headlight and tinted front windows and smelled marijuana as he approached the car. A search of the car turned up a pill bottle that contained methamphetamine. A passenger, 22-year-old Gilbert Rene Aguilar, was also cited for marijuana possession.

5800 block of Edmund Avenue: A cable box and wireless Internet router were reported stolen from an otherwise empty home sometime between 5 p.m. on June 3 and 5 p.m. on June 5. The cable box was valued at $230 and the router at $73.

Foothill Boulevard and Ramsdell Avenue: David Kevin Eckhaus, 48, of Glendale was arrested and charged with public intoxication just after 8 p.m. on June 2. Deputies had received a call that a man was urinating on cars in the area and found Eckhaus leaning against a shopping cart that contained both full and empty beer cans. According to the report, Eckhaus appeared disoriented and had trouble standing.

2900 block of Community Avenue: Vandals used black and white spray paint to graffiti on walls and doors throughout Crescenta Valley High School sometime between 11:30 p.m. on June 1 and 5:30 a.m. on June 2, causing as much as $11,000 in damage. Graffiti was left in 22 different spots, including hallways, bathrooms, a cafeteria walkway and the gymnasium. Graffiti included phrases such as “Seniors 2011” and “Ready for college” as well as several sketches and obscene remarks. The school did not have surveillance equipment to identify the vandals.
