4300 block of Ramsdell Avenue: A man looking out his kitchen window at 8:45 p.m. on April 20 noticed that a stranger was inside his parked 2003 Land Rover and appeared to be rummaging through personal items in the car. The man ran outside, prompting the intruder to flee. He described the suspect as a 15- to 18-year-old boy wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt. Deputies could not locate the suspect. Missing from the vehicle were a portable DVD player valued at $150 and a 64-gigabyte iPod valued at $350.

3100 Prospect Avenue: Jorge Silvano Zamudio, 20, of La Crescenta was arrested just after 9 p.m. on April 20 for possession of hashish and narcotics paraphernalia. Deputies searching the area for the Ramsdell Avenue vehicle burglary suspect noticed that Zamudio was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and stopped to interview him. Thinking a bulge in the pocket of his sweatshirt could be stolen property, deputies searched Zamudio and found a plastic bottle containing hashish and two glass marijuana pipes. Investigators later determined that Zamudio was not involved in the earlier vehicle burglary.
