Help city develop disaster plans

March 23, 2011

La Cañada Flintridge officials will host a public meeting Tuesday, March 29, to offer residents a chance to help shape the city’s plans for responding to earthquakes, wildfires, floods and other disasters.

Attendees will be asked to describe what types of hazards they feel pose the greatest threats to public safety, providing information that the city will use to update its disaster plans. Officials will report back to residents during a follow-up meeting later this year.

Cities are required under the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000 to file emergency protocols with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
