Area 1

3900 block of Park Place: A 2011 Toyota Camry was reported stolen at 9 a.m. on Jan. 20. The owner of the vehicle told deputies he'd parked his car in the underground parking structure of his son's apartment. He returned to his car in the morning to find broken glass where he parked his car.

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard: A Ralphs store manager reported seeing a man steal two 30-pack cartons of Coors Light from the store at 8:33 p.m. on Jan. 22. The suspect ran out of the store with the two cartons and jumped into the passenger side of a white SUV that sped out of view. Deputies spoke with witnesses and were able to get a license plate number for the car but were unable to locate the vehicle.

3100 block of Foothill Boulevard: A La Crescenta Orchard Supply and Hardware store manager saw a man walking out of the store with a $40 green trash can around 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 24. The manager didn't see him pay for the item and asked to see his receipt. The man ignored him, walked out of the store, hopped in a car and sped away. A California Highway Patrol officer saw the car peel out from the store and attempted to perform a traffic stop. The suspect ignored that as well, making a U-turn on Foothill Boulevard and driving away. A pursuit ensued until the suspect ditched his car in the 3100 block of Sycamore Avenue in Glendale, leaving the stolen trash can behind. The officer was unable to apprehend the suspect but found he'd also stolen a Dewalt impact driver and drill set valued at $1,520, which was found in the suspect's abandoned car.

Area 2

5400 block of Palm Drive: A locked, boarded-up house located in a remote neighborhood near Descanso Gardens was broken into between Jan. 10 and 18. A piece of plywood covering one of the windows was pulled off and the window was broken. When deputies arrived they determined someone had entered the house through the broken window, smashed holes into the walls and left a broken radio on the floor. No witnesses to the event could be found because of the house's isolated location. Damage to the house was estimated at $2,100.
