Hello! Is anybody here?
It has been very quiet around the hills and dales of our snug little burg. I truly think the community is taking a long winter's nap. I haven't heard a peep from anyone — which means that I don't have much to write about.
I guess I can launch into some idle chatter — like the movie and television award season that launched Sunday evening with the Golden Globe Awards presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press Assn.
No, I didn't go, but I did love watching the KNBC televised fashion show along the red carpet. Fashion-wise, I think it was mostly an "off" year for the fashionistas. In my estimation, there were more fashion misses than hits. However, I did think that Catherine Zeta-Jones was the epitome of old Hollywood glam in her fabulous dark-green gown.
This is just the beginning of the award season. The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) will hold its televised award show on Sunday, Jan. 30, from the famed Los Angeles Shrine Auditorium. And the granddaddy of them all — The Academy Awards — will be held at Hollywood's Kodak Theater on Feb. 27 and will be aired live on ABC Television.
