Area 1: Foothill Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue: Officers stopped to assist a California Highway Patrolman with a traffic stop the night of Nov. 11. The officers were approached by a man who smelled like he had been drinking alcohol. The man turned towards the officers and said, “I’m drunk.” He then sat down and said, “I’m drunk and can’t walk anymore.” The man was arrested for public intoxication.

2400 block of Montrose Avenue:

A man reported his vehicle had been scratched while it was parked in front of his house the night of Nov. 11. There was a 10 inch and 18 inch scratch alongside the car. An officer assessed the damage at $900.

2100 block of Montrose Avenue:

A man went to the post office and requested a total of 3,000 stamps at 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 12. He wrote a $1,320 check to cover the purchase. The post-office employee saw the man’s name on the “bad check list” and called the Sheriff’s department. A deputy arrested the man on burglary charges and found two other forged checks in the man’s wallet.


Angeles Crest Highway:

A deputy performed a traffic stop on a vehicle with a non-operable license at 12:55 a.m. on Nov. 13. The officer discovered there was a warrant out for the arrest of the front-side passenger. While arresting her the officer discovered she was carrying a butterfly knife.

2600 block of Foothill Boulevard:

A man reported he saw two white males run out of a grocery store into a running vehicle with two cases of beer the night of Nov. 10. Deputies responded and were told by store employees so that no one had purchased beer at that time. The witness gave the officers the car’s license number and a report was filed.

Area 2

4800 block of Grand Avenue:

Officers performed a welfare check on a man a 1:05 a.m. on Nov. 11. The man was hunched over, sitting in a parked vehicle that was blocking the street. Deputies found there was a warrant for his arrest for selling valium. A glass pipe used for smoking marijuana was found on the man’s person, and he was arrested.

Area 3

4400 block of Oak Grove Drive:

A man reported his vehicle had been broken into the morning of Nov. 14. The car’s battery, radiator, hood and top end of the motor had been stolen. The total damage was assessed at $1,225.

Angeles Crest Highway and Arroyo Summit Drive:
