CLASSES & SEMINARS: Plan Your Spring Garden — Saturday, Nov. 13, 10 a.m. Mike Brown, horticulturist, shows home gardeners how to get a jump on spring blooms. Class meets in the Maple building at Descanso Gardens, 1418 Descanso Drive, then moves into the gardens. Subjects covered include soil preparation, raised planting beds and container gardens. Inheritance Tax Law Changes — Tuesday, Nov. 16, 10:30 a.m. Phillip Roitman, J.D., LL.M., an attorney with more than 20 years of experience specializing in all aspects of tax law, estate planning, probate and trust administration, will talk about the impact of new rules for inheritance taxes. Keynote speaker is Master Sgt. Kanessa Trent, public affairs sergeant major for the U.S. Forces-Afghanistan. The Golden Stars Skydiving Team will give an aerial performance and there will be a special commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Korean War. Admission is free.
