La Cañada Presbyterian Church

The church presents its Lectio Divina classes.

Lectio Divina is an ancient art that was practiced at one time by most Christians. It is a slow contemplative way of reading and praying the scriptures, not a Bible study. With a selected passage, each practitioner is invited to listen to, reflect on, respond to, and then rest in the word of God. In this practice participants attend "with the ear of our hearts" to the "still small voice of God."

This is an open group that will meet the fourth Monday morning of each month for about one hour (exact times to be determined). No previous experience is required.

The community is invited to come each month. For more information or to sign up, e-mail Christy Brink at ccbrink@gmail.comor Shelley Irvine at shelleyirvine@sbcglobal.net, or call the church office.

Members of the community seeking support are invited to attend DivorceCare at La Cañada Presbyterian Church, a 13-week program created by Church Initiative and led by church members Rusty Peck and Anne Peck.

Meetings will be held from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays. The group meets in the church library, which is just to the left of the sanctuary.

Cost is $20. Participants will receive the DivorceCare workbook. Participants are only asked to attend and take part.

There are 13 sessions in the DivorceCare curriculum series, and participants may join at any time. Each session centers on a different subject.
