It is a well-established fact that girls and Hello Kitty just go together. That would explain the dozens of smiles that were found in front of La Cañada Books and Toys on Saturday afternoon, where the store hosted a Hello Kitty tea event.
“This is one of the many activities we’ve been trying to do for boys and girls throughout the year,” says Chelsea Waterson, a La Cañada Books and Toys employee. “Toy stores are supposed to be fun!”
Although this was the store’s first-ever Hello Kitty tea, it proved to be quite a success with all of its free-of-charge activities for Hello Kitty lovers under the age of 12. Young girls could be seen happily playing Hello Kitty Bingo, making wands, coloring, getting their face painted, or simply munching on lemonade and animal crackers. Prizes — Hello Kitty purses — even complemented the theme.
