The Rebels offense used several trick plays but ultimately wasted their drives due to penalties. In the Gladiator’s first offensive play of the game the Gladiator’s Quarterback Andrew Sharman handed to Adam Crawford who ran down the left side for a 29 yard touchdown. The Rebels continued with pitches to multiple players, but were held to the line of scrimmage by the strong Gladiator defense of Jonathan Ahn, Devin Matthews and Thomas McConnell.
In the second quarter, the Rebels continued to run sideways across the field, allowing La Cañada’s defensive line of Thomas McConnell and Charlie Stewart to pull flags for tackles with a loss of yardage for the Rebels.
The third Quarter got off to a slow start. La Cañada incurred several penalties and punted, but the Gladiators’ defense held the line on Rosemead’s offense. The only Rosemead threat was thwarted by Johnathan Ahn who made a great catch for an interception. Thomas McConnell took over at quarterback and Ronald Shin took the handoff up the middle and zigged and zagged for a touchdown to seal the victory for the Gladiators.
Next week, the Gladiators travel on Nov. 7 to El Monte where they take on the Jets at 12 p.m.
