‘American Idol’ tickets up for grabs

April 23, 2009|By Ruth Longoria

If you’ve been following the tragedies and triumphs of this year’s “American Idol” finalists, and have a favorite or two among current contestants, Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta, Matt Giraud, Lil Rounds, Danny Gokey, Adam Lambert and Anoop Desai, you probably will want to cast your bid in La Cañada High School 7/8’s auction for two tickets to this season’s final live performance of American Idol.

The tickets were donated by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

Bidding on the auction is not only a good way to help out La Cañada High 7/8, but also a great chance to see some amazing talent. The winner of the auction will receive two tickets to see the May 19 taping.

The auction begins today (Thursday) and will benefit the LCHS 7/8 PTA Home Tour 2009.

“It’s a priceless opportunity to see a show that everyone is talking about,” said Home Tour Chair Jodi Powers.

“Tickets are nearly impossible to get, and what teenager wouldn’t want to see the top-rated show’s finalists up close and personal?” Powers asked.

The auction closes at 10 p.m., Friday, May 8, the day of the Home Tour, which will include visits to four beautiful La Cañada residences, as well as a luncheon and boutique on the grounds of one of the estates.

Tickets to the Home Tour are $40 in advance, or $45 on the day of the event at Descanso Gardens. Tickets can be purchased online and picked up at the Descanso Gardens will call office, or purchased at the Apple Cart, 1518 Foothill Blvd. The luncheon will be catered by Porta Via Italian Foods, and tickets for the lunch are $15 each. In the event of rain, the tour will continue, but luncheon tickets will be considered a donation, according to the Home Tour website.
