Fatal motorcycle accident

A 28-year-old Costa Mesa man was killed this week after his motorcycle crossed the double yellow line on Angeles Crest Highway and he was struck by an oncoming truck.

According to a California Highway Patrol spokeswoman, at 11:48 a.m. Tuesday a man driving a motorcycle westbound on Angeles Crest Highway at mile marker 37.5 at a high rate of speed. For some reason he crossed the double yellow line and collided with a Ford truck traveling eastbound. The motorcycle went under the truck and the man was ejected onto the roadway.

A Los Angeles County helicopter was flying overhead at the time and witnessed the accident. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck reported no injuries.
