Gilmore Bank, which recently celebrated the grand opening of its La Cañada branch on Rinetti Lane, announced last week it had been named to the Small Business Administration’s Preferred Lender Program. To earn the designation, lenders must demonstrate a proficiency in processing and servicing SBA guaranteed loans.

The SBA generally processes loans submitted by its PLP lenders in less than 36 hours, according to Gilmore Bank officials.

“This is the highest distinction a bank can receive from the SBA,” said Doug Spencer, president and chief executive officer of Gilmore Bank. “As a preferred lender, we make credit decisions on behalf of the SBA and approve the loans internally. It’s a vote of confidence in our ability to underwrite loans in compliance with the SBA’s standards and guidelines.”
