The La Canada Gladiators Junior Pee Wee team took first place for scholarship awards out of 28 teams in the San Gabriel Valley Junior All-American Football Conference.
The team's overall grade point average was 3.41, with 19 out of 30 players earning a 3.3 or better to win a coveted Scholarship Patch. The team, under the direction of Head Coach Jaime Crespo, also advanced to the semifinal round of Division playoffs and finished the season at 7-2.
This weekend at St Francis High, the La Canada Gladiators, including the Junior Pee Wees, will participate in the third annual Lou Enterante Bowl Game. Named in honor of ex-Gladiator President Lou Enterante who passed away in 2004, the proceeds from the game go to St Francis High to assist a needy student with financial aid. The Gladiators will face teams from the Azusa Raiders and the Camarillo Road Runners.
