Palm Crest Holding Book Fair

October 26, 2006

Holiday shopping? Palm Crest Elementary hopes you will stock up on books for adults and children, CDs, DVDs, calendars, games and more at its upcoming Fall Book Fair to be held at Barnes & Noble in Glendale from Wednesday, Nov. 8, through Sunday, Nov. 12. Shop at the store, at 245 N. Glendale Ave. during these days and Palm Crest will receive a percentage of your sales dollars.

For Palm Crest to benefit from purchases, shoppers need to present a Palm Crest voucher when paying at the register. The voucher is available at Palm Crest's website (www.palmcrest.org) and at the school office. Barnes & Noble invites the entire community to participate. Family, friends and neighbors are welcome to print out the voucher and shop to benefit Palm Crest.

"This is a terrific way to get your holiday shopping done and, simultaneously, show your support for our elementary school," noted Nina Browning, PTA Book Fair chair at Palm Crest. "The selection at Barnes & Noble is just incredible, and nearly every item in the store counts toward Palm Crest's percentage, even sale items. Our schools need all the fundraising dollars they can get, so we hope the community will come out and shop."

Palm Crest will earn 10% of all participating sales if the total reaches $2,000, 15% if it exceeds $2,000, or 20% if the grand total is more than $10,000.

All merchandise counts with the exception of gift cards, Barnes & Noble memberships, and items consumed at the on-premise Starbucks. Coffee beans and Godiva chocolates sold at the in-store café are eligible. In addition, current members of Barnes & Noble will be able to use their membership to receive a 10% discount while also participating in the Palm Crest fundraiser.

Barnes & Noble is open 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.
