Ten Years Ago …

Robert J. Stanley was introduced to the LCF City Council as he assumed his duties as the newest member of the city's planning department. He came from the city of Walnut, where he had served as a senior planner.

Twenty Years Ago …

Flintridge Riding Club hosted the four-day Flintridge Amateur Horse Show. The show's finale was the $25,000 Chrysler Grand Prix of Flintridge, a world cup qualifying event. Course designer was Richard Jeffery, an internationally acclaimed designer whose courses were used in the 1984 Olympics.

Thirty Years Ago …

For the first time in the school's history, all of the top offices in the La Cañada High School Associated Student Body were held by girls: President Bernadette Burkett, Vice President Dana Fugleso; Secretary Shelly Bamattre and Treasurer Antoinette Burkett (sister of the ASB president).

Forty Years Ago …

Negotiations were underway to bring a Van de Kamp's bakery to the north side of the 800 block of Foothill Boulevard. Applicant Robert Genofile said if it were approved it would be the seventh in a chain of the company's restaurants.

Fifty Years Ago …

After directing activities at the La Cañada Youth House on a part-time basis for a year, Ed Bozonier signed a three-year contract with the Youth Council to become the first full-time director of the institution. Helping Bozonier serve the community's youth were volunteers from the Assistance League of Flintridge.
