Annemarie Gabrielle Polizzotto

July 28, 2005

Annemarie Gabrielle Polizzotto, of La Crescenta, age 15, left our world on Saturday night July 23, 2005. It was a result of a tragic accident in San Bernardino. She was with a group there to cheer on her sister Maddalena's 12-year -old all-star team when the accident occurred.

Immediately, an overwhelming stream of tributes began to flow in - an outpouring of candlelight vigils, flowers, cards, huge gatherings of friends, moments of silence and prayers continue to mount. All to honor this very specied young lady whose short life touched so very many hearts.

Annemarie entered this world on March 24, 1990 in San Francisco. Before her first birthday, the family moved back down to the foothill area, where she has lived ever since. She aftended Robbin's Nest pre-school, Dunsmore Elementary and Rosemont Jr, High. She was currently a sophomore at Creseenta Valley High. As a freshman, she played JV soccer, but her real love was softball. She played on the J V squad. She was known for her speed running bases and for being a "scrapper" with a positive "I can do it" attitude.

She had always played in the Crescenta Valley Little League and "collected friends along the way." So often, she made new friends among the opposing team, exchanging phone numbers and emails, for no one was a stranger to that diminutive young lady! She collected friends like the Pied Piper. When she was a few months old, her maternal grandparents named her Angel because of her sweet personality. She overcame a physical situation from birth, astonishing doctors from the beginning. She had an overwhelming desire to achieve, especially in sports. In her short time upon this earth, she taught us so much. She taught us to smile and be happy and hug those we love. Her family and friends and sports were her Iife. She leaves us all a legacy of love. Her spirit will live on in so many ways, for she was truely an angel!
