On July 17th and 24th, I completed my Eagle Scout project at Twelve Oaks Lodge in La Crescenta. I had 30 boy Scouts from Troop 507, friends, and parents help me on the first day of the project, and 20 on the second day. It was a great project that will benefit the residents of the lodge.
For this project, we re-landscaped an old garden by two newly remodeled cabins, cleared away a large area of ivy, and built a horseshoe pitch. It was a great project, and it was great to know how appreciated it was by all the residents. Over 230 volunteer hours were accumulated over two days, and I would like to say thank you to all those who gave time out of their day to support me.
I could not have completed this project without the help of all my fellow scouts and friends, but I could not have gotten them all to come out and help were it not for the vendors that donated food and supplies to me for my project. I would like to thank Pepe's Mexican Restaurant, Roundtable Pizza, La Cañada Imports, Dominos Pizza, Pizza Hut, Georgee's Pizza, Vons, Ralphs, Trader Joe's, Golden Donuts Place, OSH, ACE Hardware and La Crescenta Nursery for their generosity.
